How To Play
Initial Deal:
All of the cards are dealt into 13 piles, each consisting of 4 cards. Twelve of the piles are arranged in the pattern of a clock, with the thirteenth pile in the middle.
Basic Play:
The top card of the middle pile is turned up to start the game. To play this card, it must be placed on the pile that represents its value on the clock face. Thus, if it was a 12, it would be placed at the "12" position (Kings are played on the middle pile). Once a card is played on its correct pile, the top card of that pile is turned over. Play continues by placing this new card on its proper pile.
Winning:
The game ends when either all 52 cards have been correctly placed, or all four Kings have been played (thus bringing the game to a stand still). If all 52 cards were correctly placed, the game will continue to a new round with your score and time carrying over.
Scoring:
1 point for a correct placement. -5 points for an incorrect placement.
Variations:
Levels 2 and 3 make the game more challenging by "rotating" the "12" position on the clock. The "12" position is rotated at the beginning of a new game in Level 2, and at random times during play in Level 3. A "12" marker indicates where the current "12" position is at.
HandEra 330 Users:
This program has been enhanced to take advantage of the high resolution screen and Jog Wheel features of the HandEra 330.
On the main playing screen, when you "minimize" the SilkScreen, the Best Scores for the current level are displayed in the extra area.
In the Statistics screen, you can use the Jog Wheel up/down to toggle between Statistics and Best Scores. Pressing the Jog Wheel in will return you to the playing screen.
You can also use the Jog Wheel up/down in any of the on-line help screens. Pressing the Jog Wheel will exit the help system.
Sony Clié Users:
This program has also been enhanced to take advantage of the Sony Clié Jog Dial.
In the Statistics screen, you can use the Jog Dial up/down to toggle between Statistics and Best Scores. Pressing the Jog Dial in will return you to the playing screen.
You can also use the Jog Dial up/down in any of the on-line help screens. Pressing the Jog Dial will exit the help system.
Settings Help
- Difficulty Level:
- 1: Cards piles are arranged in a "normal" clock face. 12 is at the very top. The rest of the values (1,2,3...) proceed from there clockwise.
- 2: At the beginning of each game, the clock face is randomly "rotated" clockwise by some amount. A 12 marker indicates the position of 12, and the rest of the values (1,2,3,...) proceed from there clockwise.
- 3: At random time intervals during the game, the clock face is "rotated" clockwise by some amount. A 12 marker indicates the position of 12, and the rest of the values (1,2,3,...) proceed from there clockwise.
- P: Practive Level. Similar to Level 2, but the round is not timed and points are not kept. The 12 position is randomly chosen and the 3, 6, 9 positions are labeled. Best scores and statistics are not kept for this level.
- Practice Offset:
This sets the "offset" from the normal "12" poisition (ie. "0" offest is a normal clock setting). This setting is only used for the Practice Round. Each new Practice game will use this setting until changed.
Color Settings (If using a color enabled device)
- Background Color:
The background color.
- Default Color:
Sets the Background to a known color.
