Alphabet Rhyme Time Info |
Alphabet Rhyme Time is a captivating program for teaching the alphabet to young children. It teaches both the upper and lower case letters as well as 26 objects (and animals). Simply press the down arrow key to move to the next letter, or tap on the silk screen menu button to bring up several options, including the ability to set user preferences or move to a specific letter.
 |
Options Menu |
Alphabet Rhyme Time has only 1 menu (tap on the menu silk-screen icon just above the Datebook hardware button), an Options menu with the following choices:
- Preferences... - Displays the Alphabet Rhyme Time Preferences screen where you can set various user preferences. The Graffiti shortcut for this option is "/R".
- Go To Letter... - Allows you to go directly to any letter of the alphabet. The Graffiti shortcut for this option is "/G".
- Registration... - For unregistered copies of Alphabet Rhyme Time, displays a screen on which you can enter your registration code after you have paid. This removes the occasional registration reminder on startup. See the section below on Registering Alphabet Rhyme Time.
- Beam ART - Beams the Alphabet Rhyme Time application (ART.prc or ART_Gray.prc) to another Palm handheld device.
- About ART... - Displays version and other information about Alphabet Rhyme Time. The Graffiti shortcut for this option is "/I".
 |
Preferences |
The Preferences options are:
- Sound - Sound can be set to Off (no sounds), Beep (beep when going to the next letter), or Music (play the Alphabet song). The Beep and Music settings both respect the Game Sound volume level set in the Preferences application.
- Letter Case - The letter being displayed can be lower case or UPPER CASE.
- Name Case - The name of the object being displayed can be lower case, Init Caps (first letter of each word capitalized) or UPPER CASE.
- Font - The poem can be displayed in any of the given fonts.
- Hardware Btns - The hardware buttons can be used to advance to the next letter instead of invoking their respective Palm applications if this option is set. Regardless of this setting, the up and down arrow buttons move to the previous and next letter respectively.
- Screen Arrows - On-screen arrow buttons (to go to the previous or next letter) are displayed if this option is set.
- Bg Color - On color devices, the background will be color (very light pink, yellow, etc.) if this option is set and white if it is not.
Alphabet Rhyme Time is $5 shareware. All future upgrades are free! Simple economics will dictate how many upgrades there will be, so please register and spread the word...
