DOCview works Windows 95/98/NT PC's. These notes should help you get the most out of the software.When reporting bugs or making comments, please state the version number of DOCview which you have used.

DOCview.exe is a simple PalmPilot Book (DOC file format) viewer. The general goal for the design of the DOCview program was for it to serve as a simple, fast document viewer to use to read downloaded web site data or electronic books and novels. And, what the heck, its free.

How Do I Install?

At this time there is no install program for the program. You may install the software by copying it your HardDisk. You may also create a shortcut to this application and copy it to the /Windows/Start Menu/Programs location. The application should then show up on your start menu.

The application does not use any registry entries.

How Do I Use?

Copy the application into a directory on your PC.

Create a shortcut to the application

Run the application

From the menu select 'Open'

From the 'Open File' dialog select the file you wish to view

Browse as though you were viewing the Web

To Refesh the currently viewed document, just select refresh from the File menu

To view a previously viewed document just select that document from the drop-down list box

Menu Options:

On the File menu

Browse - Launches an Open file dialog box to open files for browsing
Refresh - Refreshes the current file, by reloading the file
Close - Closes the current file and clears the stack
Exit - This does what every good application should do.

On the View menu

Back - Moves you to a previously view file
Forward - Well, it moves you forward
Options - Not available in this version

There is a command bar with:

Browse
Refresh
Close - When in the process of loading a long documtent this button will also stop the current load
Back - When in the process of loading a long documtent this button will also stop the current load
Forward - When in the process of loading a long documtent this button will also stop the current load
Increase Font Size
Decrease Font Size
Options button: Currently disabled. This will change in the future to become a dropdown button to show Bookmarks, so be aware.
